Dr. Conroy was appointed Assistant Superintendent on December 1, 2004. He is responsible for the district curriculum, strategic planning, federal programs, alternative education and professional development. Dr. Conroy organizes the Committees that interview and recommend professional employees for teaching positions. He works closely with the principals in providing quality instruction and monitoring attendance, discipline and student safety. Along with the Superintendent and Business Manager, he is responsible for the financial management of all district operations and services.
Dr. Conroy has worked in the Jersey Shore Area School District since January 2001. He was the Director of Curriculum & Assessment with responsibilities for special education services, alternative education and student evaluation. He had previously been employed as an elementary principal, special education director and school psychologist in the South Williamsport Area School District.
Dr. Conroy is committed to providing quality education to all of the students in the Jersey Shore Area School District. He is proud that the average student performance scores on the state assessments have increased over the past six years. There has been a 22% increase in the percentage of students earning proficient scores due to the efforts of all students, teachers, families and support staff. We still have work to do to help all students achieve their highest potential!
